Aralia

Aralia or Spikenard is a genus 68 deciduous and evergreen trees and shrubs of the ivy family, native to Asia and the Americas, with most species found in mountain woodlands. Species can vary in size from 50 cm to 20 metres tall. They have large bipinnate leaves clustered at the ends of branches, sometimes covered with bristles. The flowers are whitish or greenish, blooming in terminal panicles, and the spherical darkpurple berry-like fruit are popular with birds.
