Athyrium

Athyrium ferns are a genus of 180 species of deciduous fern mainly found in moist woodland or forest in temperate and tropical regions of the world. Athyrium ferns tolerate all but dry conditions and are a good all-round garden fern. Known as the Lady-fern, the sheer variety of the Athyrium genus is evident in the many different shapes and colours – from the strong scarlet stems of Athyrium filix-femina to the delicate silver-green foliage of the Athyrium ghost. All boast delightful feathery leaves and look great among Rhododendrons, Camellias and Pieris. Reliable and attractive, Athyrium ferns are an excellent choice.
