Bring a welcome flush of colour to your garden in spring when the bare twigs of the Chaenomeles 'Crimson and Gold' are smothered in striking, cup-shaped, bright-red flowers with yellow centres. The flowers are followed by aromatic, greenish-yellow fruit which can be eaten when cooked. The Flowering Quince is a fully hardy shrub for early spring providing a show of polished, dark green leaves after flowering. The Flowering quince tends to be more dense than other varieties which is why it is considered an exceptional choice for training against a wall.
