The fragrant, white flowers of the armandii smother the climber in early spring. Clematis armandii will cover a trellis, wall or pergola with a beautiful blanket of delicate, fragrant flowers in spring and handsome, dark green leaves all year round. Plant near a doorway to enjoy the scent similar to a hawthorn blossom. Clematis armandii is best grown against a sheltered wall away from cold wind in moist, well drained soil.
