One of the finest Lace Cap Hydrangeas. An unusually strong and hardy grower, Hydrangea macrophylla Blue Wave will flower with beautifully shaped blue to mauve petals in acid soils in July and August. Numerous large ray flowers circle the tiny center flowers amongst the supporting dark green foliage. When grown in light shade there are few flowering shrubs of any kind which can equal this beauty. Alkaline soil will change the flowers of this deciduous, lacecap hydrangea a lilac-blue or pink.
