Rumohra

The Rumohra genus is also known as the leather-leaf genus of ferns, thanks to its thick leaves and its tendency towards heavy clumping. The Rumohra fern will grow up to 36 inches high and wide, and up to two feet long. It boasts glossy dark green oval, lance-like or diamond-shaped fronds, with pairs of stalked segments. The best example of this type is Rumohra adiantiformis – also known as the “Australian Leather Fern”, with its dense, dark green foliage. Rumohra ferns are naturally found in woodland environments and in UK gardens lend themselves well to shady areas such as rockeries and by pools.
