The canes of the Phyllostachys aureosulcata Aureocaulis are entirely yellow, except for a few vertical green stripes and an occasional cane having a zigzagging kink. New canes of the Yellow Groove Bamboo, which emerge in spring, have a light creamy-yellow colouration.  Once they are exposed to the sun they become reddish.

An incredibly stunning bamboo.
