The first ever gold-leaved Redbud! A wonderful introduction with new foliage emerging pink and quickly changing to an intense golden yellow. As summer progresses the early leaves of the Cercis canadensis 'Heart of Gold' gradually change to apple green, whilst new ones keep emerging yellow, and we are presented with a glorious effect of up to three colours.  Its hard to miss this Redbud in spring, the customary flowers burst into a cloud of pinkish red. 

With a mature height of up to 4mts, 'Hearts of Gold' makes an excellent feature in any lawn. Cercis canadensis 'Heart of Gold' appears to be a faster grower than other cultivars of Cercis, growing up to 3mts in its first 5 years.
