A vigorous, conical, deciduous tree grown for its stately habit and curiously shaped, large dark-green leaves, that turn yellow in autumn. Green, orange-banded tulip-like flowers, hence the common name, Tuplip Tree, are produced in midsummer. Liriodendron tulipifera is excellent grown as a specimen tree.
