A highly sought after Magnolia, rare and beautiful. Magnolia liliflora nigra has a compact habit with stunning, goblet-shaped, purple-red flowers that are paler within. Nigra flowers at an earlier age than most Magnolias.

Perfect for a smaller garden but equally holds its own in a larger one. Protect from strong winds, mulch around the base every spring with good garden compost or manure. Magnolias prefermoist, well-drained soil.
